HANSTON – Dennis R. Jones, 67, died Sept. 27 at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1943 at Spearville, the son of Bert and Bertha Smith Jones. A lifetime area resident, he was a lineman for Midwest Energy at Hanston, and he was also a farmer. Dennis was a loving father and grandfather.

Mr. Jones was the Post Commander for the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Hanston. He was of the Christian Faith.

Survivors include, a son Brad Jones and wife Angie of Wamego; a daughter Kristie Jones of Dodge City; a brother Raymond Jones of Warsaw, Mo.; two sisters, Arlene Byrum of Larned, and Ilene Cox of Hanston; and four grandchildren, Jordan, Cassie, Ali and Bethany. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Dennis Bradley Jones; and a daughter, Jamie Lynn Jones.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Hanston, with the Rev. Gary Winget presiding. Burial will be at the Brown’s Grove Cemetery in Burdett with military graveside rites given by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Hanston.
