Dolores C. Schneweis, 84, died July 13 at home in Great Bend. Born July 13, 1929 at Hays, she was the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Feltes) Hoffman.
She married Bernard A. Schneweis May 27, 1953 at Great Bend, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Schneweis was a Great Bend resident since 2003 coming from Claflin, and having grown up in Dubuque, Kans. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Great Bend. She enjoyed embroidery, cross stitching, and baking.
Survivors include her husband Bernard A. Schneweis, of the home, as well as seven sons: Leon (Cinda) Schneweis, Lawrence; Richard (Debbie) Schneweis, Claflin; Mark Schneweis, Fallon, Nev.; Alan (Susan) Schneweis, Ellinwood; Paul (Renee) Schneweis, Fort Bragg, N.C.; Tony (Robin) Schneweis, Manhattan; and Mike Schneweis, Great Bend.
She is also survived by three sisters: twin Sr. Mary Lawrence Hoffman of Great Bend; Marcella Flax, Ellis, and Mercedes (Arthur) Huslig, Ellinwood; seventeen grandchildren: Rachel, Nathan, Phillip, Fred, Jon, Cindy, Matthew, Angie, Travis, Erin, Bryce, Rian, Steiner, Curtis, Cierra, Christopher, and Faith and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Bernadette Schneweis; and one sister, Ann Koester.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 18, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with celebrant Father Don Bedore. The Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, at Bryant Funeral Home, followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, at Claflin Cemetery, Claflin.
