LARNED – Donald J. Deege, 94, passed away December 20, 2019 at his home in Larned.
Born October 6, 1925 in Pawnee County, the son of Delbert L. and Leta E. Leapley Deege.
A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer. He was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was also on the Area Coop Board, Farm Bureau Board, and was a 4-H leader for the Tiny Toilers.
On June 10, 1947 he married Phyllis Barstow at Larned, she preceded him in death on May 12, 2018.
Survivors include: a son, Jon (Shirley) Deege, Kinsley; two daughters, Deborah Noble, Lombard, IL, Denise (Charles) Erdman, Wichita; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three sisters, Eloise Beasley, Glennis Lierly, and Ada Lee Stedman.
Funeral 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Pastor Mark Hornbaker presiding. Visitation 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial in Larned Cemetery, Larned, with military graveside rites.
