Donna N. Thompson, 85, died March 21, 2014 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
Born Feb. 13, 1929, in Pardeeville, Wisc., she was the daughter of John Sidney and Ellawood (Noble) Proberts. On Feb. 5, 1972, she married Marvin Logan Thompson in Miami, Okla. He died on Nov. 8, 1989. A resident of Great Bend since 1942, coming from Canon City, Colo., she worked for F.W. Woolworth and TG&Y as a sales clerk.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband’s son, Marlan Gambar of California; nieces, Cynthia Rusotto and husband Michael, Chicago, Ill.; and Donna Dove and husband Danny, Magnolia, Texas; nephews, Howard Proberts and Christopher Proberts, both of Chicago, Ill.; Mark Proberts, Willis, Texas; and John Proberts, Silsbee, Texas; sisters-in-law, Ona Proberts, Silsbee, Texas; and Mary Jo Proberts, Chicago, Ill.; four great nieces, three great nephews; and two great-great nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brother, Howard N. Proberts and John W. Proberts.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Lennie Maxwell officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Cherry Village Activity Fund, in care of the funeral home.
