GREAT BEND — Doris D. Gillis, 72, a longtime resident of Great Bend passed away Sept. 10, 2013 at Hays Medical Center after a brief illness. Doris was born Oct. 14, 1940 at Marshfield, Mo., the daughter of Lloyd and Ella Mescal (Matthews) Gideon. The family moved to Ellinwood when she was 11 years old, and later lived in Albert for a period of time.
