ENID, Okla. — Doris “Jean” Forshee, 81, died Feb. 4 at her home in Enid, Okla. Born Aug. 9, 1933, in Alvord, Texas, she was the daughter of Baltus and Reba (Rhyne) Mosier. She grew up in Alvord, Texas, Bowie, Texas and Big Spring, Texas. She was married to John Workman, and they had three children, Datha, Dana, and Mike. On Dec. 30, 1986, she married John Forshee in Enid, Okla. She was employed for 46 years at the USAF/Civil Service. She loved music, dancing, reading, bowling, shoes, puppies, and watching her grandchildren do anything.
Mrs. Forshee was a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola at Vance AFB, and recently a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Federal Women’s Program.
Survivors include her husband John of the home: three children, Datha (Bill) Cottingham, of McKinney, Texas, Dana (Dan) Newton of Enid, Okla., and Mike (Erin) Workman of Newcastle, Okla.; six grandchildren, Scott and Katelyn Cottingham, Jennifer (Tyler) Grimes, Jeremy Newton, Nicole and Mikaela Workman; two step-children, Mary (Mike) McLean and their children Chance and Justin, all of Moore, Okla. and Jon Paul Forshee of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers-in-law, Ron (Pat) Forshee, of Wichita and Kent (Theresa) Forshee, of Macksville; sister-in-law Elaine (Rod) Straub, of Great Bend; and mother-in-law Loretta Forshee of Great Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents, B.N. and Reba Mosier.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla. Recitation of the Rosary will be 5 p.m. on Sunday evening at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home in Enid, Okla. Memorials may be made to Our Daily Bread.
