PLAINVILLE — Doris Marie (Miller) Fischer, 80, passed away Feb. 22, 2016 at Rooks County Health Center in Plainville. Born on Nov. 26, 1935, in Larned, she was the daughter of Ryal L. and Augusta (Walter) Miller. She grew up in Radium and graduated from Radium High School with the Class of 1953. She attended Fort Hays State College for one year before meeting and marrying Neil Harmon Fischer on Oct. 3, 1954, in Radium.
Mrs. Fischer was a member of the First Christian Church where she also taught Sunday School.
Survivors include her husband Neil Fischer of the home; daughters Nalisha Cotter of Littleton, Colo., and Crystal Craig of Russell; sister Naomi Culbreath of Edmond, Okla.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter Aibhilin Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ryal and Augusta Miller; brother Marion Miller; and sister Mary Louise Selbe.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Plainville. Memorials are suggested to the Western Plains Animal refuge and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
