BUNKER HILL — Dorothia Frances Anderson, 100, of Bunker Hill, died Jan. 10, 2014 at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell. She was born on July 27, 1913, in Bunker Hill, the daughter of William and Claudie (Hatton) Moore. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School. She was married to Harley E. Reiss. He died in 1971. She later married William Anderson, who preceded her in death in 1981. She worked as a homemaker, and at one time for many years she worked for the Bunker Hill Grocery Store.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Reiss, Bunker Hill; four stepchildren, Kay Stearns, Connie Wolfe, Sue Combs and Donny Anderson; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
A celebration of Dorothia’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, with the Rev. Fred Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Bunker Hill Lions Club and sent in care of the mortuary.
