LARNED — Dorothy D. Fox, 88, died May 16 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Born Oct. 12, 1924, in Muskegon, Mich., she was the daughter of Ernest W. Goldsmith. On Dec. 15, 1946, she married Walter Mac Fox in Wichita. A longtime area resident of Larned, she was a farmer’s wife, a Rosie Riveter for Boeing during World War II and worked in the Dietary Department at Larned State Hospital.
Mrs. Fox attended the United Methodist Church in Larned.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Gary of Ottawa, Larry of Manhattan and Maurice of Larned; four grandchildren, Eric of Larned, Chris of Salt Lake City, Utah, Bethany of Shawnee, and Weston of Austin, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Allen, Easton and Eli Fox; and a fourth grandchild due this year. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ann Fox.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned with the Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation in care of the funeral home.
