Dorothy E. Kerschen, 91, died Oct. 9, 2015, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1924, at Willowdale, the daughter of Rudolph and Tillie (Pillar) Harbert. She married Wilferd J. Kerschen on Nov. 24, 1947, at Kingman. He died July 9, 1977.
A Great Bend resident since 1950, coming from Kingman, Dorothy was a homemaker, also working for Small World and Komarek Jewelers.
Mrs. Kerschen was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Survivors include one son, Robert Kerschen of Wichita; two daughters, Sue Doonan and her husband Kenny of Wichita, and Aimee Shank of Wichita; four grandchildren, Brian Doonan, Brent Doonan, Jennifer Doonan Pece and Connor Shank; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Kerschen and Ronald Kerschen, and by five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore, officiant. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Altar Society rosary will be at 4 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, and vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
