TOPEKA -- Dorothy Mae Carver, 75, Topeka, passed away May 17, 2013 at Midland Hospice House.
Dorothy was born July 11, 1937 in Claflin, the daughter of Joseph and Georgia (Wesely) Patzner.
She graduated from Claflin High School in 1954. She was an inspector in the revenue/accounting division of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Colly Creek Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses and the Santa Fe “Old Timers” retirees. Dorothy married Gary Garhart on June 8, 1958. They later divorced. Dorothy married James Carver on May 26, 1972 in Junction City. He survives.
Other survivors include her daughter, Diane (David) Palmer, Topeka; step-daughter, Cherie (Joseph) Stude, Bonner Springs; step-sons, Draque (Lisa) Carver, Ozawkie, Lance Carver, Topeka, Marc (Tammy) Carver, Kansas City, Nile Scott Carver, Streetsboro, Ohio; Quentin (Cara) Carver, Auburn; 15 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Catherine Dreiling, Wichita, Sue (Karl) VonFeldt, Topeka; and a brother, Joseph (Pat) Patzner, Joplin, Mo.
Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 4230 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS, 66610. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Kingdom Hall one hour prior to the service.
