Dr. Marvin L. Deines 1927 - 2011

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Dr. Marvin Deines, 84, died 23 June in Chesapeake, Va. He was born Jan. 23, 1927, at Olmitz, the son of Jacob Deines and Hannah Janke Deines. He was a retired chiropractor and the founder of "Foundation of Faith IV," a nonprofit organization that awarded college scholarships in memory of fallen military sons and daughters of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one daughter, Deborah, Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Bernice Swopes, Tulsa, Okla.; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Jania and Terri; four brothers, Herman, Lawrence, Ruben and Arthur Deines; and two sisters, Edna Milberger and Martha Deines.

The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Mountain Standard Time, Wednesday at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, N.M.
