HOISINGTON — Dwayne Detter, 61, died Jan. 12, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. He was born Feb. 15, 1952 at Hutchinson, the son of Leonard Dwayne and Donna Jean (Van Meter) Detter. Dwayne married Denise Perry July 30, 1977 at Lyons. Growing up in Sterling, Dwayne was a Hoisington resident since 1996 coming from Oberlin. Dwayne was a sales manager for KSN-Oberlin and later Eagle Radio, Hays, retiring in 2006.
Mr. Detter was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Hoisington.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Detter, of the home; his mother, Donna Jean Detter, Sterling; a son, Jeb Detter and wife Sarah, Hoisington; a daughter, Caitie Detter Alexander, Hoisington; a sister, Chris Patton and husband Jon, Flower Mound, Texas; two brothers, Randy Detter, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Bill Detter and wife Debbie, Enid, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Jack Alexander and Annalise Detter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard and brother, Brian.
Funeral Service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Interment will be at Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
