Earline Martin 1951 - 2018

ROCKFORD, Ill. — Earline Martin, 66, of Rockford, formerly of Great Bend, Kan., went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2018. Born on Dec. 24, 1951, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of Frank and Anna (Evans) Morland. Earline’s parents died when she was a young girl; she was raised by her half-sister, Leota Hall. Attended high school in McPherson, Kan., and obtained her nursing degree from Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kan. United in marriage to Allan Martin on Nov. 17, 1984. Earline retired from the nursing profession, where she worked in home health as a traveling nurse. She relocated to Rockford in October of 2017 to be closer to her son and grandchildren in her retirement. In the brief time that she lived in the area, she made many friends. She had a warm, welcoming personality, and made everyone feel like a friend.


She attended Heartland Community Church. Earline loved her dog, Jasmine. She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.
Survived by her son, Bradley A. (Jen) Martin of Rockton; stepchildren, Tod (Rita) Martin of Casper, Wyo., Karen (Paul) Peppard of Kingman, Kan., Terry Martin of Hutchinson, Kan.; grandchildren, Alec and Mady Martin, Dustin Densler, Shana Martin; great-grandson, Jakob Densler; siblings; Anna Collins, Barbara Brown; twin sister, Maxine Rose, all of St. Louis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and beloved dog Jasmine. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Leota Hall; brother-in-law, Duane Hall; siblings, Frederick “Tommy” Morland, Johnny Morland; and husband, Allan Martin.


Visitation from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Heartland Community Church, 1280 S. Alpine Rd. Rockford, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. Pastor Josh Peigh will officiate. Graveside Funeral Service at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Olive Mennonite Cemetery, 61081 Co Rd 3, Elkhart, IN 46517. Grace Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
