LARNED — Edgar Lee “Bud” VanEaton, 96, died Sept. 4, 2012 at Country Place Senior Living in Larned.
Born Aug. 29, 1916 in Rozel, he was the son of Edward and Hattie Stealy VanEaton. A longtime resident of Larned, he was a retired farmer and custom harvester. On Nov. 1, 1975, he married Sylvia M. Herdt Miller in Denver, Colo. She survives.
Mr. VanEaton was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Larned.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; two daughters, Diane Mitchell and husband Gerald, Arapahoe, Colo.; and Janet Krueger and husband Dale, Columbus, Mich.; three step-children, Sandy Hardies and husband Renwood, Canadian Lakes, Mich.; David Miller and wife Dena, Larned; and Debra Vogle and husband Roger, El Dorado; a brother, G.W. VanEaton, Oakley; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee VanEaton; three brothers, Glen, Ezra and William; and nine sisters, Fannie Healy, Sue Kuehn, Maude Drake, Essie Sturm, Dolly Thomas, Leta Nelson, Evelyn Peterson, Marforie Ellen VanEaton and Eva VanEaton.  
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rick Langness presiding. Burial will be at the Garfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m., at Morell Funeral Home in Larned.
