HOISINGTON — Edmund R. Billinger, 94, died Oct. 23, 2011 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington.
He was born Sept. 17, 1917 in St. Peter, the son of Joseph P. and Clara (Riedel) Billinger.
On April 10, 1942, he married Bette M. Alt in Washington. A resident of Hoisington for three weeks, coming from Denver, Colo., he owned an auto body shop, retiring in 1980. He loved fishing in Wyoming with his nephew and friends. Mr. Billinger was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Bette M. Billinger, of the home; three sisters, Clementine Shives, Hoisington; Barbara Knoll, Derby, and Rosie P. Fabricius, Great Bend; many nieces and nephews; and long-time friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Billinger and Alvin Billinger; and one sister, Mary Miller.
Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Burial will be at the Golden Belt Cemetery in Great Bend with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
