Edmund Wayne Rome, 60, of Great Bend, died Nov. 20 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend. He was born Feb. 15, 1950, at Great Bend, the son of Ed and Isabella (Frost) Rome. He married Rosalyn Schenkel. They were later divorced. He worked for the City of Great Bend at the water treatment plant. Mr. Rome was a lifetime resident of Great Bend. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Rome attended Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Church. He had a passion for vehicle restoration.

Survivors include two sons, Corey Rome of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Brent Rome of Hutchinson; one sister, Sharon Doherty-Evans of Woodstock, Ga.; and a grandchild, Emily Rome. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Donations to a memorial fund for the American Diabetes Association may be made in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
