HOISINGTON — Edward Murray, 67, died Dec. 6, 2011 at his home in Hoisington.
He was born Jan. 18, 1944 at Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Christopher and Stella (Thompson) Murray.
Edward married Theresa Schwartz Sept. 2, 1978 at Missouri City, Texas.  He was a resident of Hoisington since 1995. Edward worked as a security guard for Great Bend Packing. He was a truck driver and recently worked at Town and Country Supermarket in Hoisington as a stocker. He was a member of the Claflin Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, cookouts, traveling, collecting John Wayne memorabilia and spending time with his grandchildren. 
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Murray, of the home; two sons, James Holt Jr., Ellinwood; and Tim Holt and wife Donna, Longview, Texas; four daughters, Mary Ferguson and husband Johnny, Spring, Texas; Brenda Christensen and husband Don, Grand Junction, Colo.; Tina Rumold and husband Shawn, and Claudia McCollum and husband Shaun, all of Claflin; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Norval, Norman and Frank Murray; and two sisters, Juanita and Norma.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16 with Officiant Reverend Gene Langhofer at Claflin United Methodist Church.
