HOISINGTON — Eleanor Marie Reif, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Mulvane.
She was born Oct. 8, 1923 the daughter of Julius and Matilda (Boor) Klug.
Eleanor, a homemaker, was a lifelong resident of Barton County. She attended the Holy Family Catholic School through the eighth grade. On May 21, 1946, she married William J. Reif at Odin. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1990.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Altar Society of Beaver, Kansas and St. John Altar Society of Hoisington. Eleanor enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing and spending time with family.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Reif and wife Sue, Concordia; Gene Reif and wife Stephanie, Wichita; two daughters, Lil Cole and husband Luke, and Eileen Meier, all of Mulvane; two brothers, Leon Klug and wife Lois, Jim Klug and wife Rita, all of Hoisington; a sister, Margaret Brenner and husband Ben, Beeler; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bernard Klug, Lou Klug.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin with Reverend Pascal Klein as celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday with a vigil service followed by an altar society rosary at 7 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
