Elias M. Gonzalez, 71, passed away peacefully Aug. 27, 2023, surrounded by his family at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on Feb. 5, 1952, in Guadalupe Victoria, Durango, Mexico, to Candelario and Concepcion (Martinez) Gonzalez. In 1970, he married Irene Tinoco in Guadalupe Victoria, Durango. 

A resident of Great Bend for 33 years coming from Wichita, Elias worked as a manufacturer at McDonald Tank & Equipment. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, attending services at St. Rose of Lima. Elias enjoyed going on walks, gardening, vintage cars, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Gonzalez, of the home; four sons, Armando (Irma) Gonzalez, Rigo (Laura) Gonzalez, Jorge (Rafaela) Gonzalez, Isaias (Daisy) Gonzalez, all of Great Bend, Kan.; a daughter, Victoria (Vince) Enfield of Goddard, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five brothers; and four sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, with Vigil at 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola Presiding. Inurnment will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at Golden Belt Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
