Ellen Jane Schuler, 83, passed away July 24, 2016 in Wichita. She was born May 31, 1933 in West Bend, Iowa to Irma and Leo Buttemore. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Anderson; and grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson and Robert Anderson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Schuler.
She worked as a landman for Harper Oil, and for Synergy DATACOM. Ellen served as president and lifetime member of the Barton County Community Concert; Member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Great Bend; Committee member for the Oklahoma City Symphony; Ward and Precinct Election Supervisor in Great Bend; President of the League Of Women Voters; President of Campfire Girls of Great Bend; Member of National Council of Campfire Girls; Chairman for United Fund Drive; Panther Parents President; Fire Prevention Chairman and member of American Business Women’s Association.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be Aug. 6th, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Walnut Hill Cemetery, 900 Marquette St., Kingman, with reception following at Christ Church Episcopal, 322 N. Spruce, in Kingman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Golden Belt Community Concert Endowment, In name of Ellen Schuler, 1316 Sheridan, Great Bend KS, 67530, c/o Justin Engleman.
