LARNED — Ellen Nadine Bittner, 81, died Feb. 23, 2014 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.  She was born Oct. 22, 1932, at Alton, Missouri, the daughter of Claude and Esther Barton Strain.  A resident of the Great Bend formerly of Larned, she was a retired nurses aide at Gleason Hospital in Larned.   She was of the Christian faith.   
On June 28, 1952, she married Darrell D. Bittner in Larned.  He passed away Feb. 15, 2008.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Bunch and Debra Jo Underwood both of Great Bend and Pam Huff, Wichita, 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Patricia Ann Bittner, four brothers, two grandsons, Jessie James Bittner and Steven Ray Thayer.
Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Morell Funeral Home, with Pastor Clay Boepple presiding.  Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
