Florence J. Debes, 75, of Great Bend, died Nov. 24 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born April 2, 1936, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of John A. and Helen F. (Huslig) Debes. She lived on the farm where she was born until she moved to Odin in 1980 with her parents. Her mother died in 1987 and she lived with her father until he died in 1999, when she moved to Great Bend, as a client of Rosewood Services.

Ms. Debes was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin.

Survivors include five sisters, Helen Detmer and husband John of Great Bend, Pauline Oberle and husband Jim of Bushton, Doris Feist and husband Gene, and Lou Feist and husband Richard, both of Claflin, and Pat Feist and husband Martin of Austin, Minn.; nine brothers: Gene Debes of Great Bend, Father Don Debes OFM Cap. of Papua, New Guinea, Ken Debes and wife Deb of Hays, Tom Debes of Odin, Bernard Debes and wife Carolyn of Clyde, Leon Debes and wife Rosemary of Boonsboro, Md., Francis Debes and wife Virginia of Claflin, John Debes and wife Kate of Hoisington, and Michael Debes and wife Kathy of Dodge City; 43 nieces and nephews; and 38 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Brian Debes and Jeff Oberle; and a niece, Megan Escalante.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin with Father Charles Mazouch, celebrant. Interment will be at the Holy Family Cemetery in Odin. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Fr.
