lorine Burgardt, 85, died Dec. 6 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Feb. 24, 1926 in Liebenthal, she was the daughter of Alex C. and Catharine (Munsch) Herrman. On May 27, 1946, she married Harold Peter Burgardt in LaCrosse. He died on July 13, 1999. A Great Bend resident since 1968, coming from LaCrosse, she was a long-time employee of USD 428.

Mrs. Burgardt was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the altar Society, an RSVP volunteer, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Paul Burgardt of Los Alamos, N.M. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dr. Diane McHose.

An Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Celebrant Father Don Bedore. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from noon to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to CKMC Foundation for the benefit of the Heartland Cancer Center, in care of the funeral home.
