Frances Evelyn Keyes 1926 - 2016

CLAFLIN — Frances Evelyn Keyes, 90, passed away Oct. 26, 2016, in Great Bend. Born Aug. 25, 1926, in Claflin she was the daughter of Emil and Orie (Belt) Kratky. On April 25, 1947, she married Rex Henry Keyes in Ellsworth. A longtime resident of Claflin, Frances worked in Food Service at Barton County Community College.
Mrs. Keyes was a member of the Great Bend VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Lana Besthorn of Claflin; a son, Alan Keyes of Salina; a sister, Alice Johnson of Chickasha, Okla.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Victor Kratky; and two sisters, Helen Meggers and Elma Kratky.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Palacky Cemetery in rural Ellsworth County. No visitation is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Claflin Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home.
