Frances “Frankie” Kaiser,  83, died April 20 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. She was born Nov. 11, 1928 at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, the daughter of  Frank  and Anna  (Schaplowsky) Wirtz. She married Melvin Patrick Kaiser May 13, 1952 at St. Joseph Church in Ellinwood.  He survives. She worked for Home Health as a nurse aide.
Mrs. Kaiser was a lifetime resident of Great Bend. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima, Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Society.  She enjoyed sewing and embroidery and loved her grand and great-grandchildren.  She was known for her famous peanut brittle. She was active in the 3 Cs Cancer Support Group.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Patrick Kaiser of the home; three sons, Steve W. Kaiser and his wife Lynn of Great Bend, Jim A. Kaiser and his wife Debby of Great Bend, and Stan D. Kaiser and his wife Jana of Overland Park; two daughters, Marcie F. Liebl and her husband Larry of Claflin, and Sharon K. Feist and her husband Greg of Great Bend; one sister, Maggie Gerstenkorn of Great Bend; one  brother, Joe Wirtz of Ellinwood; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, Cory Kaiser and wife Erica and their children, Crawford and Kellan of Porter, Texas; Kelly Kaiser and wife Sarah and their children, Bo, Cruz, and Hayes of Andale; Stephanie Kaiser of Great Bend; Ryan Kaiser and wife Kasey and their daughters, Emerson and Camden of Shawnee; Lt. Aaron Kaiser and his daughter, Madeline of Bremerton, Wash.; Scott Liebl of Claflin; Travis Liebl of Hays; Courtney Liebl of Manhattan; Jenni (Feist) Knepper and husband Cody and their children Brody and Lilly of Edmond, Okla; Evan Feist and wife Heather and their daughter Brooklyn of Wichita; Kyle Kaiser of Overland Park; Brett Kaiser of Overland Park,  and Connor Kaiser of Overland Park.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Leo Wirtz, Jerome Wirtz, Frederick Wirtz, Larry Wirtz and Danny Wirtz; and sister, Pauline Stoecklein.
The Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Vigil and D of I Rosary is at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at  St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore and Father Ted Stoecklein officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, April 23 at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas or Woodhaven Care Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
