PLANO, Texas — Frances Lorene Foos Kimple passed away Aug. 5, 2016 in Plano, Texas. Born Oct. 10, 1942, in Bazine, she was the daughter of Elmer Foos and Lydia Fech Foos. She was a graduate of Bazine High School and Emporia State Teachers College with a degree in Elementary education. She met Stephen Kimple of Ellinwood in the band at Emporia. They married Aug. 10, 1963, after he joined the Air Force. They first lived at Myrtle Beach AFB, SC and then Bergstrom AFB, Austin, Texas. After military service in 1968 they moved to San Antonio, Texas where Steve went to work for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. For the next 33 years, they lived in California twice, Japan, Germany, and Dallas, Texas before retiring in Plano, Texas. Fran retired from State Farm Insurance in Dallas, Texas after 22 years. She enjoyed attending the activities at Temple Emmanu-El in Dallas, Texas and volunteered a day each week at the Judaic Treasures gift shop. She loved her Siamese cats. She enjoyed attending family reunions and her many sewing projects and crafting quilts.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Stephen Kimple of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Donavee Shaw of Buckeye, Ariz., Nancy Alsop of Seattle, Wash., and Kathryn Foos of Plano, Texas; two brothers Carlynn Foos of Ness City, and Lowell Foos of Bazine; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and older brother, Dennis Foos.
A funeral service was held today at Temple Emmanu-El in Dallas, Texas. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
