     ELLINWOOD — Frank Slade Zamarripa Jr., 45, died Feb. 13, 2015, in Ness County. He was born April 26, 1969, at Great Bend, to Frank and Gloria K. (Kincaid) Zamarripa. He married Donita Kay Morris Nov. 1, 1997, at Great Bend.  
     An Ellinwood resident, he worked many years doing manufacturing work and then, after acquiring his commercial driver’s license, he became a truck driver for various companies.
     He served 26 years in the United States Army, with tours in Honduras, Bolivia, Kosovo and Iraq.  He retired from the military in 2013.
     He was a member of American Legion Olin Cole Post No. 392, Bazine, and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7428, Hoisington. He loved to play video games and softball.
     Survivors include his wife, of the home; four children, Natasha Rose Steinle and husband A. J. of Russell, Jesse Michael Zamarripa of Russell, Slade Christopher Zamarripa of the home, and Christine Holly Chesney of Kansas; two sisters, Michele Zamarripa and Misty Nichols, both of Hoisington; grandfather, Fred Ray Kincaid of Larned; and three grandchildren, Raven, Warren, and Holly.
     Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend, with the Rev. Dr. Scott V. Solether officiating. Inurnment will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood, with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard. A luncheon will be served at the church following the committal service at the cemetery. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present from 6-8 p.m., Friday at Bryant Funeral Home.
