Frieda Theresa Boehnke, 71, passed away Feb. 17, 2023, at the University of Kansas Health System – Great Bend Campus. She was born Feb. 25, 1951, in Andale, to Roman and Barbara (Boor) Hein. She married James D. Boehnke July 10, 1976, in Andale.
A long time Great Bend resident, Frieda was a shift manager at both Long John Silvers and Arby’s. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, the Storm Special Olympics Team Board Member and Boy Scout Pack 110 Den Mother. Frieda loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include, her husband, James D. Boehnke of the home; three sons, James Boehnke of Great Bend, John Boehnke and wife Kristine of Robinson, Ill. and Jason Boehnke of Great Bend; four brothers, Joe Hein and wife Dee of Wichita, Leonard Hein and wife Deb of Mt. Hope, Roman Hein and wife Patty and Bernard Hein and wife Betty all of Andale; three sisters, Rosemary Pawloski and husband Chuck of Derby, Marilyn Guy of Forsyth, Mo. and Margaret Schoch and husband Kurt of Amarillo, Texas; and a granddaughter, Amelia Boehnke with one more granddaughter to arrive in March. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, JoAnn Hein; and two brothers, Tom Hein (Hoisington) and David Hein (Austin, Texas).
Friends may sign the register book from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home. An Altar Society rosary held at 4 p.m., and Vigil service with Daughters of Isabella rosary at 7 p.m., both at Bryant Funeral Home on Thursday. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, at St Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Inurnment will be in Great Bend Cemetery North.
