Gary Ray Fischer 1935 - 2022

HUDSON — Gary Ray Fischer, age 87, passed away on Oct. 10, 2022 at Hutchinson, Kan. He was born on Oct. 3, 1935 in Great Bend, Kan., the son of William and Helen (Sittner) Fischer. Gary graduated from Hudson High School in 1953. He joined the Army to serve his country in the 553rd Field Battalion and 18th Artillery Group in Darmstadt, Germany from 1956-1957. He returned to be a farmer/stockman in rural Hudson, Kan. 

His memberships included Trinity Community Church, Hudson City Council for 30 years and Stafford County Zoning Board. On Dec. 22, 1980, he married Elaine Krankenberg at the Trinity Church in Hudson, Kan. Gary is survived by his wife Elaine (Aumiller) Krankenberg-Fischer, two sons, Danny (Michelle) Krankenberg, Terry (Michele) Krankenberg; a daughter, Debra (Jerry) Miller; two sisters, Gloria Willinger and Mary Lou (Jim) Kestner; a niece and four nephews.; grandchildren, Laura Reeves, Branden (Alysha) Behrends, Amanda (Andy) Koerner, Jamie Hart, Tye (Lauren) Krankenberg, Keaton Behrends; 14 great grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Darwin Willinger.  

Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday Oct. 22, 2022 at the Trinity Community Church, Hudson, Kan., with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. A private family inurnment will take place at a later time at the Trinity Cemetery, Hudson, Kan. Family asks that attendees dress casual. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Community Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
