CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Gavin K. Hanson, 26, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, in Salina, Kan. He was born Dec. 18, 1991, to David and Janet (Huschka) Hanson in Hutchinson, Kan.
He attended Sacred Heart High School, Salina, and the University of Kansas, Lawrence. He was attending Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Gavin loved doing scientific research. He cooked as a hobby. He was an Eagle Scout. He blossomed when camping and hiking in nature. He cherished his supportive friends and family who walked with him in his cancer battle.
He is survived by: his parents, David and Janet Hanson of Salina; half-siblings, Anthony Hanson (Aubri) of Marianna, Fla., Kendra Hanson (David Oschner) of Columbia, Mo., and Heidi Hanson (Gjergji Qarri) of Matthews, N.C.; a niece and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gavin was preceded in death by, his grandparents, Margaret Hanson, and Hobart and Adele Hanson, and Bill and Cecilia Huschka.
Family will greet friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. with a memorial service following at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
