LIBERAL — Georgia (Tyne) Valerius, 86, died Jan. 19 at her residence in Liberal. She was born July 30, 1924, in Jonesboro, Ark., the daughter of George and Ella (Gray) Munger. She married Arthur Gray (Bud) Valerius on Feb. 14, 1948, in Hoisington. He passed away July 31, 1979.
Georgia grew up in Hoisington and graduated from Hoisington High School in 1942. She and Bud raised their four children in Hoisington and resided there until moving to Liberal in 1969.
Survivors include two daughters, Jonnie Beth Bonnar of Grand Junction, Colo., and Lesley King and her husband Rodney of Liberal; two sons, Scott Valerius and his wife Carol of Hoisington, and Seth Valerius and his wife Derenda of Topeka; and seven grandchildren, Corrie Bonnar, Meghan Bonnar, Andrew King, LeAnn Valerius, Jay Valerius, William Valerius, and Bud Valerius and his wife Laura.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with the Rev. Don Fisher officaitng. A private family burial will take place at Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family present. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Catherine Hospice in Liberal, or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
