OTIS — Gerald J. Steele, 58, Otis, died July 22, 2016, at his home. He was born Nov. 8, 1957, in Olivet, the son of Gerald L. and Delores M. (Criqui) Steele. He was a 30-year resident of Otis, moving from Great Bend.
Mr. Steele was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and spending time with his family.
On Nov. 8, 1980, he married Emily L. Coe at First Church of the Nazarene, Great Bend.
Survivors include: his wife, Otis; three sons, Jerrime Steele, Ellinwood, Jayson Steele, Larned, and Lucas Lyon, Emporia; two daughters, Jennifer Stevenson, Otis, and Sandra Ault, Great Bend; four grandchildren; his father, Gerald Steele, Anderson, Mo.; and two sisters, Doris Boyd and Barbara Long, both of Anderson, Mo. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Mary Steele.
The family will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, with Pastor Bruce Adamson officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Gerald J. Steele Memorial Fund.
