Gerald "Jerry" Wagnon 1943 - 2011

Gerald "Jerry" Wagnon, 67, died June 12 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Dec. 23, 1943, at Joplin, Mo., the son of Dean and Leona (Beatty) Dugan. He married Wanda Halling on Feb. 14, 1981, at Dundee. He worked for Reiter Chevrolet, Standish Motors and Jeff O’Neill Ford as a car salesman.

Mr. Wagnon was a lifetime Great Bend resident. Jerry enjoyed reading, computers, and spending time with his grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Daniel Wagnon and wife Marie of Fort Collins, Colo., and Michael Wagnon of Sand Springs, Okla.; five daughters, April Hart and husband Jim of Manhattan, Leah Becker and husband Bill of Hoisington, Heather Jones of Wichita, Brenna Sprout and husband Bob of Newton, and Meghan Kern and husband Reggie of Great Bend; 16 grandchildren; and mother-in-law JoAnn Halling, Jetmore. He was preceded in death by stepfather and mother Hal and Leona Wagnon; father, Dean Dugan; brother, Hal Wagnon Jr.; father-in-law, Lawrence Halling; and by one grandson, Judson "Beck" Hart.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Street Church of God in Hoisington, with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
