ELLINWOOD — Geraldine Ann (Bousser) Menges, 89, passed away in Ellinwood, KS on April 18th, 2023. Born in Wichita, KS on August 1st, 1933 she was the daughter of Gardy L. and Mabel R. (Downey) Bousser. A longtime Ellinwood resident Geraldine married Gerald F. Menges on October 8th, 1951 at St. Joseph Cathedral in Wichita, KS.  In addition to taking care of a household with 9 children Geraldine was owner of Jerry’s Burger house (Great Bend), and Menges rental/fireworks. She also did the books for Menges electric, worked as a nurses aid, and waitress. 

Memberships include St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society, Ellinwood City Council, American Legion Aux. Club, Daughters of Isabella regent, and State regent. 

Survivors include 6 children, Mary (David) Tudor, Margaret Fer-guson, Mark (Tracy) Menges, Melinda Adams, Michelle (Donavon) Jones, Michel (Tara) Menges, 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Geraldine was preceded in death by husband, Gerald Frances Menges; sis-ter, Barbara Harris; sons, Michael and Matthew Menges; daugh-ter, Millie Menges; granddaughter, Monika Menges; grandson, Jeremy Adams; and great-great-granddaughter, Maleah Menges. 

Funeral mass will take place 10:00 AM, Friday, April 21st at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will take place Thursday, April 20th from 2-5 PM with 3 PM Altar Society Rosary at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Vigil service will begin Thursday at 7 PM at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph School in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
