Geraldine Theresa ‘Gerry’ Bieberle

HOISINGTON — Geraldine Theresa ‘Gerry’ Bieberle, 91, died Jan. 15, 2026, at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend, Kan. She was born Oct. 31, 1934, in rural Barton County, Kan., the daughter of Lawrence L. and Theresa A. (Schremmer) DePiesse. Gerry was a 1952 graduate of Odin High School.

On June 4, 1956, she married Waldean Steinert in Hoisington, Kan. They later divorced. She then married Clifford C. Bieberle on September 23, 2009. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2023.

A longtime Barton County resident, Gerry worked as nurse’s aide and helped Waldean with the painting business in her early years. She had a way with people and found a job serving at the Redwing Store, and then on to Beaver, and finally spent many years at the Taproom in Hoisington, recently returning for her 91st birthday celebration. Gerry loved to travel, early on that was with Waldean’s Polka band and later in life Gerry and Cliff liked to take bus trips. She was also game to try her luck on any motorcycle, moped, or three-wheeler, not always successfully. The last few years Gerry treasured the love and support of her newfound family at River Bend.

She is survived by her three sons, Jay Steinert and wife Cheryl, Marty Steinert all of Hoisington, and Terry Steinert and wife Stacy of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Shane (Janet) Andereck, Mindy Steinert, Cole Steinert and Chase Steinert; and two great grandchildren, Jadynn and Kasey Andereck; four stepchildren, Jim (Crystal) Bieberle of Great Bend, Danny (Tammy Becker) of Medicine Lodge, Vicki (Bill) Woodral, and Donna (Matt) Eshleman, all of Great Bend; many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and an infant daughter, Tina Steinert; stepdaughter, Linda Francis; sister, Gladys Durand; and brothers, Laverne, Larry, and Marlin ‘Butch’ DePiesse.
