Glenn Scott Presley 1948 - 2014

LARNED — Glenn Scott Presley, 66, died Sept. 21, at Mayo’s St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Min. Born Feb. 8, 1948, in Wichita, he was the son of Glenn and Ruby Elzey Presley. On Dec. 31, 1967, he married Linda Walker in Marquette. She survives. After graduating from McPherson College, he moved to Larned to begin teaching high school industrial arts classes. He managed the Larned Swimming Pool for 25 years. He was a loving husband, a caring father, and a very proud grandpa.
Mr. Presley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Larned, KNEA, NRA, and the Fort Larned Gun Club.
Other survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Pearce (Chuck), of Dallas, Texas; a son, Jedidiah Presley of Wichita; a grandchild, Patrick Pearce of Dallas, Texas; a brother, John Presley (Diana), of Dodge City; a brother-in-law, Glenn Walker (Barbara), of Brookville; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family invites the community to join them in sharing and exchanging their personal memories and stories at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, at Glory Be, 623 Broadway St., Larned. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 25, at the First United Methodist Church, 701 Main Larned, with Pastor Bethann Black presiding. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned. Memorials may be given to the Glenn Presley Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
