Glennis Arlene Doll, 99, died July 10, 2016, at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born Dec. 28, 1916, in Whiteside County, Ill. she was the daughter of Fred and Johanna (Onchen) Beuttel. On Dec. 28, 1935, she married Glen Hartshorn. He died on June 7, 1936. She then married Marvin Doll on Dec. 29, 1945, in Great Bend. He died on July 8, 1981. A Great Bend resident for more than 70 years, she was a cosmetologist.
Mrs. Doll was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111 Auxiliary, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Glen Arden Hartshorn of Wilsonville, Ore.; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmont Beuttel and Wayne Beuttel; two sisters, Lois Tucker and Donna Kimpler; and grandson, Mark Hartshorn.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to VFW Auxiliary, in care of the funeral home.
