Gloria Leon, 65, died Jan. 7, 2015, at her home in Great Bend. Born Oct. 25, 1949, in Great Bend she was the daughter of Sextos and Irene (Weiss) Leon. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was a dishwasher at the Highland Manor. She enjoyed music and dances.
Survivors include long-time companion, Howard Barry of Great Bend; one daughter, Christine Ann Moore of Wellington; two sisters, Juanita Clawson of Great Bend, and Carolyn Rucker of Pampa, Texas; three brothers, Bobbie Lee Leon and Robert Dean Leon, both of Great Bend, and Richard Joe Leon of Salina; one half brother, Lawrence Leon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one half sister, Eloise Leon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one granddaughter, Grace O’Malley Moore. She was preceded in death by one infant son, Tony Leon; son-in-law, Curtis Moore; two brothers, Benny Leon and Tony Leon; and four sisters, Dorothy Cannon, Diana Larkin, Barbara Ann Leon, and Petra Leon.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Schumacher officiating. Interment will be at the Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to service time on Friday, at the funeral home.
