ELLINWOOD — Goldie F. Manning, 80, passed away on Sept. 16, 2019 in Ellinwood, Kan. 

Born on Feb. 12, 1939 in Stockton, Mo., she was the daughter of Able and Lula Hamby Wilson (Little). She married John Lyle Manning Dec. 13, 1956 in Bolivar, Mo. and later moved to Ellinwood, Kan. in 1956. They enjoyed nearly 63 years of marriage. Goldie was a member of Grace Community Church in Great Bend, Kan. She enjoyed cooking for her family, crocheting, gardening and St. Louis Cardinal baseball. 

Survivors include daughters, Peggy Manning, Ellinwood, Kan., Carla (Ed) Herl, Puyallup, Wash.; son, Greg (Arlene) Manning, Ellinwood, Kan.; grandchildren, Keith Herl (Sua), Durham, N.C., Charlie Manning, Holyrood, Kan., Alicia Hoeffner, Ellinwood, Kan., Shane Herl, Puyallup, Wash., Brent Manning (Erica), Stafford, Kan., Jared (Jessica) Manning, Ellinwood, Kan.; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Curtis Dean Manning; and brothers, Leland Hamby, Ellis Hamby, James “Babe” Hamby, and Ray Hamby.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19 at Grace Community Church in Great Bend, Kan. with Pastor Jay Beuoy officiating. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood, Kan. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 3-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood, Kan. Memorials is suggested to Ellinwood EMS in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS, 67526. Condolences may be left at www.minnischapel.org.
