Grace A. Reneau 1925-2015

Grace A. (Hankla) Reneau, 91, passed away on Sept. 14, 2017 at the Newton Medical Center, Newton. Born Nov. 15, 1925 at Row, Okla., she was the daughter of Willis and Wilda Josephine (Phillips) Hankla. A life-long resident of St. John, she worked for the St. John Schools as a custodian. On Aug. 9, 1974 she married Hobart Dean Reneau. He preceded her in death in 1994. She was a member of the Shepherd’s Center, VFW Ladies Auxiliary since 1997, volunteered distributing local commodities and had a passion for gambling and lottery scratch tickets.
Survivors include a step-son, Kenneth Reneau (Lori), Great Bend; four step-daughters: Laressa Gardner (Jack), Larned, Barbara Koester, Larned, Anita Barker (Fred), Poplar Bluff, Mo., Candace Zaske (Kevin), Redwood Falls, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Hankla, Springdale, Ark.; many grandchildren, including Kyle Fischer (Bobbi), Turon, and Jadina Crowe (Mike), Sedgwick; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 at Trinity Community Church, Hudson, with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Burial will follow in the Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, Sept. 18 from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home, with family present from 5-7 p.m.. Memorials may be given to the Shepherd’s Center in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.
