Grace Anderson, 71, passed away September 19, 2022 at her home in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was born on January 6, 1951 to Robert and Grace (Gammy) Crowder in Washington, D.C. and lived in Ellinwood, Kansas from 1984 to 1988 and from 1991 until October, 2016, when she and her husband, Robert, Sr., moved to Biloxi.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Robert A. Anderson, Sr. of Biloxi, Mississippi; a daughter, Jennifer Anderson, and grandsons, Braydon and Ashton Dyer, and granddaughter, Kennedy Grace Dyer, of Manhattan, Kansas; a son, Donald E. Anderson II (Megan), and granddaughters, Gracie and Olivia Anderson, of Ellinwood, Kansas; a son, Robert A. Anderson, Jr. (Abby) of Hays, Kansas; and a brother, Robert Crowder (Bonnie), of Mesa, Arizona.
Grace was a retired employee of Ellinwood Grade School, Ellinwood, Kansas, and was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). While living in Ellinwood, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and belonged to St. Joseph Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the FCE Homemakers Unlimited Chapter and the Red Hat Society in Ellinwood. Grace enjoyed playing Bridge and Texas Hold ‘em Poker. She devoted much of her adult life to helping feed the homeless and to assisting those in need in both Kansas and Mississippi.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock a.m. at Waveland United Methodist Church, 314 Vacation Lane, Waveland, Mississippi, followed by a “Celebration of Life” Luncheon at 12:00 o’clock noon at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial has been established with the Shepherd’s Kitchen and Food Pantry, a Ministry of Waveland United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 653, Waveland, Mississippi 39576.
