Gwen G. Schroeder, 72, died July 20, in Great Bend. Born Oct. 15, 1941, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of H. Martin and Bernice Lucille (Davis) Glenn. She was a graduate of Ellinwood Rural High School and Adela Hale School of Business. A resident of Great Bend since 2005, moving from Overland Park, she was retired. On Aug. 6, 1966, she married Arlen C. Schroeder in Kansas City.
Survivors include her husband, Arlen, of the home; two daughters, Loretta M. Schroeder and Glory A. Ravenstein and her husband Scott, both of Great Bend; one son, Adam Schroeder and his wife Erin, of Boston, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Stacy Spohn DesLauriers of Kansas City,  Zachariah Dittrick, Casey Dittrick, and Michael Ravenstein, all of Great Bend, T. J. Spohn of Prairie Village, Misty Ravenstein of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Isabelle Schroeder of Boston, Mass.; and seven great-grandchildren, Marley, Jackson, Brock, Isaac, McKinsey, Addison, and André. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Davis Glenn and Pressley Adams Glenn II; sister, Glory Ann; and granddaughter, Cody Dittrick.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to Trinity United Methodist Church or Salina Symphony or American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
