HUTCHINSON — Harold D. Dalton, 89, passed away Aug. 7, 2016, with his family by his side. He was born in Dickenson County to Carl and Letha (Poland) Dalton. He attended Chapman High School. After graduating high school, he joined the Army serving during World War II. After an Honorable Discharge from the Army, he met and on Oct. 13, 1947, married Mary (Johnson) Dalton. He was employed by KPL as a welder and later retired as a superintendent after 42 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald (Rhonda) Dalton, Jimmy Dalton, and Robert (Mary) Dalton; three daughters, Connie (Lyle) Wharton, Lonnie (Barry Morrell) Call, and Norma (Robert) Giesick; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, his parents; his wife, Mary Dalton; a son, Terry Dalton; four brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, 10, 2016 at Bison Baptist Cemetery Bison, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to: Bison Fire Department Rural Fire District Five, 222 Main St, Bison, KS 67520 or in care of the funeral home.
