Harold Delbert Wheeler 1944 - 2018

KANOPOLIS — Harold Delbert Wheeler, 73, passed away Sept. 15, 2018 in Salina. He was born Nov. 21, 1944, in Great Bend, Kan. He married Barbara Ann Whinery in Cherryvale, Kan., on Dec. 16, 1963. 

Harold worked as a foreman for Acme Brick for 37 years and in maintenance for the TK Company in Ellsworth. 

He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Hunters’ Safety, coached baseball from peewee to American Legion, Kids’ Federation wrestling coach, women’s softball coach, and was a Mosaic volunteer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a diehard Nebraska Cornhusker football fan. 

Harold is survived by his wife, Barbara of Kanopolis; children, Sherri Roxianne Beyard (Johnathan) of Salina, Delbert H. Wheeler (Melissa) of Marquette, and Jewel L. Shultz (Steve) of Kanopolis; grandchildren, Emily K. Reifsnyder (Ryan), Jesseka Green, Madison R. Krueger (David), Josie Riggs, Erika Del Wheeler, Nicholas Andrew Snelling, Corrina A. Beyard, and Johnathan T. Beyard; and great-grandchildren, Kamren Krueger, Jayce Reifsnyder, and Korben Krueger. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Maxine and Jesse Marbut.  

Visitation: 2-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, Parsons Funeral Home, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at Kanopolis Methodist Church with burial following in the Kanopolis Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for an education fund for his three great-grandsons, c/o, Parsons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth, KS 67439.
