LARNED - Harold Duane Kirkham, 86, passed away September 24, 2020. Duane as he was known to many was born on June 23, 1934 to John F. and Effie M. (Montgomery) Kirkham.
He was a lifetime Larned resident.
Harold enlisted in the Army in 1952. He served as a sergeant in the Corp of Engineers stationed in England. After his return from service he married Glenda Ann Fishburn on March 2, 1955.
Harold worked at Larned Sand & Gravel for nearly 60 years, retiring in 2012. Harold was well known for keeping driveways clear during the winter storms of the past. He was also a champion for the underprivileged in the area.
Harold was proceeded in death by both parents, his brother Loris, and step sister June.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Glenda. Daughters Terri Bushey of Cawker City, Kansas, Tanya Parish of Larned, and son Todd of Arlington, Texas. Harold leaves 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Tricia North presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
