SEWARD — Harold Leroy Fischer, age 74, passed away on Apr. 19, 2024 at his home. He was born on Nov. 6, 1949 at Great Bend, Kan., the son of Leroy and Phyllis (Baker) Fischer. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1967 and Salina Vo-Tech in 1969. Prior to being a contract pumper, he worked at C&P Electric and had his own mechanic shop at his residence for over 25 years.
He served on the North Seward Township Board, Peace Church Cemetery Board and was a member of Peace Church. He served on the Stafford County Fire Department for 30 plus years where he held positions of both Seward-Radium Fire Chief and Stafford County Fire Chief.
Harold married Diane (Heuszel) on Apr. 8, 1978 at Peace Church, rural Hudson, Kan., she survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Matthew (Jessica) Fischer, Seward, Kan.; a daughter, Tracy Fischer, Great Bend, Kan.; grandchildren, Nevaeh Fischer and Garrett Fischer; brothers, Marc (Michelle) Fischer, St. John and Craig Fischer, Ellinwood; with many nephews and nieces.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. A celebration of life gathering will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Harold and Diane Fischer farm.
