MARQUETTE — Harriet Ann (Green) Seuser, 84, formerly of Bison, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Riverview Estates, Marquette, Kansas.
Harriet was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Nowata, Okla., the daughter of Claude and Elizabeth Jane (Christy) Green. The family moved to Great Bend, where Harriet attended middle school and high school. She was a 1951 graduate of Great Bend High School, and received her Associate’s Degree from a business college in Hutchinson.
Harriet worked for Shell Oil Company, and later as a dispatcher for the Rush County Sheriff’s Office. She also worked for the State Of Kansas Social Rehabilitation Services.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bison.
In Nov. 1960, she married George J. Seuser, Jr. in Colorado Springs, Colo. Harriet and George made their home both on a farm in Rush County, and in Bison. At the time of her passing, Harriet and George were residents at Riverview Estates in Marquette.
Harriet was a well read woman who was known for her cooking and her devotion to her family.
Survivors include her husband, George J. Seuser, Jr., Marquette; one son, George J. Seuser III, Kanopolis Lake; one daughter, Laurie Denk, (John) Lindsborg; two grandchildren, Claire Denk, Lawrence, and Connor Denk, Lindsborg; one great grandson, Liam Denk, Lindsborg; and one brother, James Green, Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse. Inurnment will be in the Lone Star Cemetery, Bison.
