GREAT BEND — Helen L. Morgan, 88, died Nov. 6, 2014 at her home in Great Bend.
Born July 13, 1926, in Peabody, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Ida (Jarvis) Slaymaker. On April 22, 1948, she married Thomas Earl Morgan in Eunice, N.M. He died on March 29, 2010. A Kansas resident since 1948, coming from Garden City, she was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita; St. Catherine Hospital and for Dr. John Austin in Garden City; St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend; and Great Bend Manor. She managed the Great Bend Estates Mobile Home Park.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of First Christian Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Jenks and companion Michael Richards, Kim Tutak and husband Rick, and Terri Delgado and husband Beaver, all of Great Bend; a sister, Joyce Austin and husband Lloyd, Edmond, Okla.; a brother, Marvin Lee Slaymaker and his wife Johnie, Pampa, Texas; three grandchildren, Stacie Jenks, Troy Tutak and Larissa Richards; and five great-grandchildren, Kali Cameron, Tevin Cameron, Colt Cameron, Savanah Tutak and Morgan Tutak. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence J. Slaymaker.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the First Christian Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Joshua Leu officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church Kitchen Fund, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
