HOISINGTON – Helen Margaret (Penka) Kalina, daughter of Emil and Hedwig (Heger) Penka, died Dec. 11, 2014, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse.
She was born Dec. 9, 1924, at Redwing, Kansas. She married Joseph J. Kalina at O’Neill, Neb. Oct. 10, 1950. He died May 29, 1980.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at Hoisington; and the St. John Altar Society of Hoisington. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 25 years at O’Neill, NE. She had been a housekeeper for the priests for over 15 years and was a retired homemaker.
Cremation has taken place and memorial service will be announced at a later date, with inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, O’Neill, Neb.
